Workshop: Building Shiny Apps

In this workshop I will give a short introduction to Shiny an R package that allows you to build interactive web apps even if you do not have extensive HTML, CSS, or JavaScript knowledge. The tutorial is hands on and we will work through creating a shiny app that allows the user to explore and visualise data. The tutorial covers creating the user interface, including how to read input from the user, writing familiar R analysis code in the server function using user input as variables, and managing the reactivity between the server side and user interface. If time allows we will also explore how to create dashboards, tabs and including maps in our Shiny app.
Note: this workshop is aimed at confident R users who are familiar with common data wrangling and plotting techniques.

Each participant is required to bring their laptop with Shiny Package for R installed.
