AMSI Travel Grants, funded by AMSI and Australian BioCommons, support undergraduate and postgraduate students to enhance their skills and expand their professional networks by providing full or partial travel and accommodation funding to participate in AMSI flagship events.

Before applying, read the AMSI Travel Grant rules below.
1. AMSI Travel Grants provide full or partial support for mathematical sciences and related discipline students enrolled at an AMSI Member University to participate in AMSI Flagship programs (AMSI Summer School, AMSI Winter School, AMSI BioInfoSummer).

2. Applicants must be:
(a) Enrolled in a mathematical sciences or related discipline degree at an AMSI Member University
(b) Registered to attend the full AMSI BioInfoSummer program in person
Preference will be given to applicants from mathematics and statistics departments, however, students from related disciplines are invited to apply with the support of the AMSI Member representative at your university.
3. Funding is available for:
(a) Delegate travel from their home city to the conference city and/or
(b) Accommodation in the conference city for up to 4 nights
Funding is awarded to a capped amount for each item requested.
The grant does not cover registration fees, daily expenses (e.g. groceries, toiletries, taxis, Ubers etc.) and incidental costs.
4. Applicants can receive only one AMSI Travel Grant in any one-year/12-month period

7. Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, taking into account the overall benefit to the applicants. AMSI or the Event Director may seek additional input as needed.
8. In applying for an AMSI Travel Grant applicants agree:
(a) that their name, photo and/or biography can be published on the event website, and for other AMSI reports and promotional material
(b) to submit a short event report within 30 days post-event for use in AMSI reports, websites, newsletters and other promotional material. A report template will be provided by AMSI. You can view previous grant recipient reports at rhed.amsi.org.au/grant-recipients/
(c) to complete the post event feedback survey
9. Recipients must participate fully in the program that funding is received for.
10. The AMSI Travel Grant is paid post event after full attendance is confirmed by the AMSI BioInfoSummer Event Director.

The attendee must submit tax invoices for the agreed items to their home university to arrange reimbursement. The university produces an invoice to claim the reimbursement from AMSI.
